I ended up somewhere in the Swiss Alps while raveling through Europe. This was the summer of 1972 after graduating high school. I got off the train (which I took everywhere for 10 weeks), with one or two of the people in the photo. All youth hostels (and other affordable accommodations) were full so we kept walking up into the mountains. Buy the time we hit the end of the road there were eight of us looking for a place to bunk down for the night.

We spotted a cabin off in the distance which the caretaker allowed all of us to use. It was part of a Boy Scout camp but they weren’t scheduled to arrive for a few weeks. What a wonderful base from which to hike the Swiss Alps. After 4 days we all walked back to the train station and went our separate ways.
