The Camaguey Ballet is a proud institution in this city,  Located in the center of Cuba, it’s second in size and prestige behind the Cuban National Ballet in Havana.  While touring Cuba in 2017, we were able to view the entire facility, including the dozen seamstress who sew and repair the dancers costumes.   All the seamstress of the Camaguey Ballet use foot powered antique sewing machines, which looked to be almost a century old.

A Street Photographers dream, because we were able to see the behind the scenes workings of a classic ballet.  I noticed the faces first and then the hands. As a result, one could tell these seamstresses worked long and hard to make the dancer’s performances shine.
