I rarely focus on photographing the Homeless in New York City — or elsewhere.  Yet, something about a man sitting covered in a blue tarp haunted me,  This image was made in the late morning on a fairly warm day.

Homelessness is an issue in most all big cites and many small communities as well.  How we deal with this societal problem is difficult at best and nearly impossible as worst.  Davis, CA has found one way, having established The Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter.  The IRWS is a community based effort enabling member congregations to provide cold weather shelter and hospitality to homeless persons throughout the CityThis image was donated to the IRWS to use in their social media.  For more information you can visit www.interfaith-shelter.org.
